Dirt and Supplements

Agriculture, both crops and livestock, depletes soils of mineral nutrients, because of their removal of nutrients contained in the produce sold. Since the 1950's the increase in farm productivity and efficiency has lead to the demineralization of nutrients to the soils through commercially available means. Many growers in the U.S. do not have sufficient management expertise to account for or replace all plant nutrient elements removed. Consequently, there is evidence of widespread mineral nutrient depletion in U.S. farm and range soils. Minerals such as phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and sulfur, etc. are just a short list of the few nutrients that are depleted from our topsoil/dirt. This mineral depletion has

led to many unnecessary chronic diseases in our society. Food supplements are necessary today to compensate the loss of vital minerals in the soil through modern farm productivity.
